The truth is that travelling by train is a true pleasure. I have not done it for a long time and to feel that rattle of its tracks again, to relax in its comfortable and spacious seats, secretly observe your seatmate while you imagine what his life may be all about (single, married, with children, will he travel on business…?) and watching the landscape through its large windows while having a good hot coffee is the perfect time to re-browse one of my favourite interior design books.
I bought it a few years ago in Germany, on one of those work trips that, without looking for it, took me to a fair where, in addition to displaying all kind of products for the retail sector, you could also find interesting books for design professionals.
The book is called “Cool Apartments”, distributed by one of the largest book wholesalers in Germany, www.koenemann-bs.de. It is one of those books that serves as a guide for architects, interior designers and readers who want to turn their apartment into a versatile, comfortable and elegant place.
It shows different decorative styles of urban flats from all corners of the world. There you find designs that I never get bored of browsing it because it really inspires me and fills my head with new ideas when combining different works of art, furnitures and warm accessories such as blankets, cushions, soft rugs, flowers and books, many books…and it perfectly captures that style that I like so much and that I try to convey. Art as part of the decoration, I truly recommend it to you.
And without realising, I have arrived. I think you will agree with me when I say that the best thing about the train is that warm hug in which you are embraced when you find the person who welcomes you on the platform…
