Hello hello! I would just like to share some major inspirational images from a recent trip to Istanbul with my lovely friends from childhood.
Being in the decor business, there was truly nowhere better to roam the streets. The cobblestoned streets are lined by the brightest and colourful homes that will literally stop anyone in their tracks. I quickly took different pictures while walking because I loved how the cafes were decorated!
I am a fan of a cool coffee spot. Every coffee place was everything you could possibly wish for and more. While drinking a coffee, you could also shop for a beautiful antique.
Tattooed baristas, vinyl records playing, indie hits, great coffee on a corner to watch people. The interior feels effortless, library vibes with vintage details (suitcases, vinyl, books!) which keep you browsing around and discovering new and nice things.
Without question, this was the highlight of my trip, the Balat and Fener neighbourhoods, the most colourful neighbourhoods in Istanbul. Retro and vintage or even industrial deco cafés which felt like a breath of fresh air. It is the kind of place I always want to return to and enjoy the homely neighbourhood feeling.
I could have spent all day just hopping from cafe to cafe through the neighbourhood, especially since many cafes also act as little shops. Browse for antiques or retro pieces while you sip your java.
The kindness of the locals and the diversity of its residents from various cultural backgrounds and beliefs make it so different and which really inspired me to have ideas about mixing different deco styles and trends.
Let yourself be seduced by the city of the seven hills!
