I have just returned from the Ulzama Valley, letting myself be guided by its winding country roads that invite you to slow down and take in your surroundings. There is something about this place that makes me ease my pace without even realizing it. Almost instinctively, I imagine the guardian of the forest moving through the greenery, step by step, in silence, as if protecting the calm that surrounds everything.

As I venture deeper into the heart of the valley, I feel the road encouraging me to stop in Litzaso. Its white houses, with flower-filled balconies, welcome me without a word. I wander slowly, with no particular destination, allowing myself to be carried through streets where time seems to stand still. Everything here breathes serenity.

And it is that same sense of calm that accompanies me when I arrive at the golf course, perfectly integrated into the landscape. There is no disruption, no contrast—only a natural continuity. There is something difficult to explain, a kind of woodland spirit—or perhaps a discreet fairy—that seems to dwell among the grass and the forest, quietly watching over this special corner of the valley. Beneath my feet, the grass; before me, an endless sea of green. Striking the ball becomes almost secondary. What truly matters is the moment itself: the concentration, the silence, the feeling of being completely present

As evening falls, I find myself sitting on the club terrace, as though the day had brought me there effortlessly. The décor blends gilded mirrors, antique clocks, and wooden beams with black leather armchairs that seem to hold countless stories. Soft light embraces everything around me. I stay longer than I had planned, enjoying the conversation, the views, and that rare and beautiful feeling of being in a place that welcomes you with open arms.

When I leave Ulzama, the calm does not remain behind—it travels with me. This is a valley that is not merely visited; it is felt. And I know I will return, if only to imagine once again the guardian of the forest disappearing among the trees, wrapped in mist, surrounded by that deep green landscape that seems to stretch on forever.

Thank you, Ulzama, for embracing calm… and for allowing me to take a little of it home with me.
