I just came back from a trip to Casablanca, it is one of those cities that you think it is not worth visiting but as you get to know it and you get to know its people and its lifestyle, it really surprises and captivates you with its cospomolitan carácter, Young and African.

Located in the westernmost part of Morocco overlooking the Atlantic, is undoubtedly the main economic and commercial center of Morocco that is experiencing a period of great growth where tourism is the protagonist of this equation. Live with the legacy that the French left back in the 20-30s, but without leaving behind their traditions,c ulture and roots.

Its dusty and narrow colonial streets surrounded by its majestic and decadent art deco architecture, traps you with its numerous sweet shops and exquisite bustle. Its dynamism full of life, the millions of cars and cabs that circulate along the immense avenues , trees, gardens and smart squares, make the city become a chaotic but at the same time impressive one. One feels that time has stopped at some point in the time since the two cultures that breath, Franco-Maghrebi, are forced to coexist harmoniously.

The Habous neighborhood is one of the areas that I liked the most in the city, characterized by its small squares surrounded by beautiful+decadent white buildings, dotted with small bazars that sell Moroccan crafts and leather goods where one feels the true Moroccan soul. while the haggling so deeply rooted in these lands begins and that you can share with the locals, why not?, a pleasant conversation, when the main characters of the mythical movie Casablanca, motivated by the chatter, join the group, and taste a digestive mint tea and chicken pie from the very popular Patisserie Bennis Habous to better understand their daily secrets.

What better than to end the day in the wonderful restaurant La squala , a small oasis full of vegetation with exotic plants and that still today preserves the cannons of the old defensive post, an 18th century fortress that is undoubtedly a jewel architecture nestled behind the walls with views of the Atlantic Ocean. There is no better place than to savor the traditional Moroccan food that awakens a thousand feelings and connect with its dynamism!
