I have just arrived from a moving and exciting event that took place in the magical garden of the Antzasti Euskaldunon Etxea, museum founded by my friend Cristina and her sister Elena.
Today Naia, 30th of march, would have turned into her 15 if that fatal and cruel disease had not taken her and in honor of her, her parents, family and friends have promoted Naia’s smile, that was presented this same Saturday in Antzasti through an endearing market where artiesanal products were displayed, such as fun handbags, diaries, delicious shops but what really caught my attention were the colourful and beautiful crochet pieces, a technique through was gathered a group of friends during long afternoons guided by the mummy from Naia.
All this encouraged by two fantastic bands, Sabin and Inbigu, that all of enjoyed it while we savored the delicious “potatoes tortilla” and chocolate brownie while feeling Naia’s smile around us.
The funds raised in this market are inteded to help the cancer research or a children cause to bring back a smile to children who need it and in this case it is linked to create a library in the Oncology Ground from Cruces Hospital in Bilbao. An activity that Naia enjoyed so much and gave her shelter during the long hours she was at the hospital.
There are no words to describe how touching the evening was and I only express my deepest admiration for those parents who show us an attitude of strengh and courage and who bring out the most positve side of a painful situation in the memory of her daughter Naia.
